THE FOGGY NEBULA OF INSPIRATION

THE FOGGY NEBULA OF INSPIRATION

I've aligned with creativity and I've found myself in a meteor shower of inspiration. I am being pelleted with ideas of all different size and substance. I asked for it, and hello, it has arrived. Don't be fooled. It took me forever to get here...

A great mentor of mine kindly told me:

"Being an entrepreneur is like walking in fog. You can see that there is light, but you don't know where it is coming from. All you can do is look down at your feet and put one foot in front of the other."

This is not such an easy task for a "big picture" + "everything should fit perfectly in a box" kind of person, like myself.

However, it is the damn truth.

I get these huge ideas. And they are scary. I am riddled with fear. Really. So flipping scared. Recently, I had my cards read at the Treasure Island Flea Market and she callously snarked: "Don't let fear be the thing that holds you back."

Ok. Thanks?

About fear. There is this quote. It has come to me three different, miraculous times.

The first two times was in the same ten hour period. So I was reading two books at once...

I went to bed finishing a chapter of "The Fire Starter Sessions" and the chapter ended with:

“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”

I woke up the next morning to read a new chapter of "Calling in the One" and it started with:

“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”

The same exact quote ended a chapter in one book and then started a chapter in another. As I fell asleep... and as I woke up. This is magic of the highest order.

I was so excited. I told everyone. It came at a time when I so needed a sign. And there it was.

Sadly as it does, the magic of the incident faded.

Flash forward to my recent trip to India. I laid in the cabana of our private pool and (BOOM!) there it was.

“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”

The book I was reading? "Big Magic." Big. Magic. Indeed. I've played around with the idea of a writing project for years (literally years). And here I was, in India, reading a book about the magic it takes to become something I've dreamed of becoming... a writer.

“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you."

A sign when I so needed a sign. On a trip where I had set the intention to align with creativity. The morning after my grandfather (to whom I was very close with) passed to his next dimension. Magic. It makes me cry, in all honestly.

I have bad days though...

I read this post by the blogger I admire the MOST and it crushed my heart. But hey, a girl's got to have goals right?

And things like this end up in your in box and you're like: "THANK GOD."

So here I am. Standing in the eye of this swirling nebula of creativity. Doing my best to stay grounded, with very little to show for it, simply placing one foot in front of the other.
